Pennsylvania to the Florida Keys
From Philadelphia to Pittsburgh and every small town in between, Pennsylvania drivers send cars to the Keys every year. In-N-Out Keys is a veteran-owned, family-operated interstate carrier and broker, with a direct Florida carrier ready to finish the trip down the Overseas Highway.
Pennsylvania to the Keys, door to door
Moving a car from Pennsylvania to the Florida Keys is a long trip: roughly a 1,200-mile drive from the southeast corner of the state and more from Erie or Pittsburgh. Most owners would rather skip it. Retirees buying a winter home, families relocating for work, buyers who found a car at a Pennsylvania dealer, and collectors headed to a Keys garage all choose to have the car shipped and meet it at the other end.
We handle the whole route. As an interstate carrier and broker, we line up the right carrier for the long haul out of Pennsylvania. As a direct carrier for all of Florida, we take care of delivery in the Keys ourselves.
Pickup areas across Pennsylvania
- Southeast Pennsylvania — Philadelphia, Norristown, King of Prussia, Bucks and Montgomery counties, and the Main Line.
- Lehigh Valley and Poconos — Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, and Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.
- Central Pennsylvania — Harrisburg, Lancaster, York, Reading, and State College.
- Western Pennsylvania — Pittsburgh, Erie, and the surrounding suburbs.
Philadelphia and its suburbs are the busiest starting point because of the I-95 corridor, which runs almost all the way down the East Coast. If you are farther inland, expect the pickup to be arranged near a major highway such as I-76, I-78, I-81, or the Turnpike. Where a street is too narrow or steep for a big hauler, we will agree on a nearby lot.
What to expect on the road
Cars from Pennsylvania generally head south along I-95 or I-81 and I-77 toward Florida. Winter storms, mountain passes, and holiday traffic can slow a trip, and the late-fall and spring snowbird surge is the busiest period of the year for Keys-bound loads. Booking a couple of weeks ahead, when you can, gives us more flexibility. Delivery windows are estimates, not guarantees, and we will give you a realistic one for your job rather than a number we cannot promise.
Once the car reaches South Florida, the final stretch into the Keys is handled for the street and vehicle in question. Gated communities, tight canal-side roads, and Old Town Key West all require planning, so give us the exact delivery address and any gate codes.
Open or enclosed from Pennsylvania
Most Pennsylvania shipments go on open car haulers, the standard option. If you own a classic, a convertible you care about, or a newer luxury car, an enclosed trailer protects it from road salt, rain, and rock chips. Read our open versus enclosed guide to compare. For cars that deserve extra care, our exotic and classic page explains how we handle them.
A simple checklist
- Request a quote on our quote page with your ZIP code, your Keys address, and your preferred ship date.
- Tell us whether the car runs and drives, and note any modifications.
- Wash the car, photograph it, and note existing marks.
- Leave about a quarter tank of gas and take out personal items and toll tags.
- Arrange someone to hand over the keys at pickup and receive the car in the Keys.
- Check the bill of lading at pickup and delivery before you sign.
Pricing and payment
Price depends on distance, season, the type of vehicle, open or enclosed transport, and how much flexibility you have with dates. Our cost page breaks down each factor. We prefer not to throw out a number before we know the details, so request a quote for a real figure.
Every carrier accepts COD, but not every carrier takes billed payments, so paying on delivery lets us line up the best carrier for your route.
