Exotic and classic car shipping
A high-value car deserves more than a standard hauling job. In-N-Out Keys is a veteran-owned, family-operated carrier and broker serving the entire Florida Keys, and we move exotic, classic, and collector cars with enclosed transport and careful, personal handling.
Why exotic and classic cars need a different approach
A car that is rare, original, or simply loved needs more care than a routine transport. Low ground clearance, fragile bodywork, delicate paint, rare parts, and sentimental value all change how a vehicle should be loaded, tied down, and protected. A rushed load can mean a cracked splitter, a scraped lip, or a rubbed finish — small problems that can be big expenses on the wrong car.
That is why we ask more questions up front. We want to know the make, model, and year, any modifications, the ground clearance, and whether the car runs and drives. With that information we can match your car to the right trailer and driver instead of hoping the standard setup works.
Enclosed transport for valuable vehicles
For most exotic and classic cars, enclosed transport is the right call. An enclosed trailer shields the car from rain, road debris, sun, and prying eyes for the entire trip. It also tends to come with drivers and equipment suited to low or valuable vehicles, such as soft straps, wheel-strap tie-downs, and liftgates or longer ramps.
Open carriers are still a sound and more economical choice for many cars, and plenty of owners use them. Our open versus enclosed guide lays out the tradeoffs so you can decide what fits the car and the budget.
Cars we regularly handle
- Sports cars and supercars with low front splitters and tight clearance
- Classic American muscle and pre-war cars
- European touring cars and convertibles, including manual-transmission models
- Vintage trucks and restored daily drivers
- Collector cars bound for auctions, shows, or a winter home in the Keys
- Newly purchased cars moving from a dealer or private seller to their owner
If your car is not on this list, call us. Odd vehicles are our specialty as much as ordinary ones.
How to prepare your car
- Wash it and photograph it. Take clear, dated photos of every side, the roof, the wheels, and the interior. They help the pickup inspection go smoothly.
- Note existing marks. Walk the car with the driver and agree on its condition at pickup.
- Run it low on fuel. About a quarter tank is plenty and keeps weight down.
- Remove loose items. Take out valuables, toll tags, and anything that could shift. Check for spoilers or accessories that may need to come off.
- Tell us about quirks. Kill switches, tricky starters, parking brakes, tire pressure, and anything unusual belong in the booking notes.
- Provide keys and a contact. Make sure someone can hand off and receive the car.
Pickup and delivery, door to door
We offer door-to-door transport wherever the trailer can safely reach, and agree on a nearby meeting point when a street is too tight. Delivery in the Keys often means a gated community, a canal-front street, or a historic neighborhood where a full-size trailer is tough to maneuver. We will plan this with you before the driver arrives. See our pages for Key West, Islamorada, and Key Largo for local notes.
Coming from out of state? Start with our out-of-state shipping page, or if the car is spending the winter, see our seasonal shipping options.
Insurance and paperwork
Ask any carrier, including us, for proof of cargo insurance and read the coverage terms before the car is loaded. Check whether the coverage applies to the full value of your vehicle, and whether your own auto policy adds protection while the car is in transit. For collector cars, an agreed-value policy from a specialist insurer may be worth a call to your agent. We are glad to walk through what to ask. The bill of lading you sign at pickup and delivery is your record, so review it carefully.
Every carrier accepts COD, but not every carrier takes billed payments, so paying on delivery lets us line up the best carrier for your route.

Frequently asked questions
Do you ship exotic cars to the Florida Keys?
Yes. We ship exotic, collector, and high-value vehicles to and from the entire Florida Keys, usually on enclosed trailers.
Is enclosed transport worth it for a classic car?
For most valuable or original cars, owners choose enclosed transport for weather and debris protection and for specialized handling. It costs more than open transport.
Can you transport a car with low ground clearance?
Often, yes. Tell us the car and any lowering or aero parts so we can assign equipment with long ramps or a liftgate.
What if my car doesn’t run?
Let us know when you request a quote. Non-running cars can be moved with a winch, but need to be planned for.
Can I put personal items in the car?
Usually no. Carriers generally limit what can be left in a vehicle. Ask us what is allowed before you pack anything.
How is payment handled?
Every carrier accepts COD, but not every carrier takes billed payments, so paying on delivery lets us line up the best carrier for your route.
