Tampa and Gulf Coast to Key West Car Shipping

Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast to Key West

Shipping a car from Tampa Bay or anywhere on Florida’s Gulf Coast to Key West? In-N-Out Keys, a veteran-owned, family-operated direct carrier for all of Florida, picks up from Wesley Chapel to Naples and delivers across the entire Florida Keys.

Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast to the Keys

The drive from Tampa to Key West runs roughly 400 miles: south on I-75 past Sarasota and Fort Myers, across the state on Alligator Alley or the Tamiami Trail, down through Florida City, and onto the 113 miles of the Overseas Highway. It is a long day behind the wheel, and a lot of wear on a car you may want in good shape when you arrive. We haul it for you, door to door.

Why the Gulf Coast needs a wider service area

Here is something most shipping sites will not tell you: far fewer car haulers run Florida’s west coast to the Keys than run the east coast. Most Keys-bound trucks come down I-95 through Miami. On the Gulf side, a carrier that only works one city can wait a long time to fill a load headed south. That is why we treat the whole Gulf Coast, from Wesley Chapel and Pasco County down to Naples, as one service region. Pulling pickups from across that stretch is how we keep Gulf Coast loads moving toward the Keys.

We will not promise a pickup date we cannot keep. What we can promise is a straight answer about your window, because as a direct carrier for all of Florida we plan these in-state runs ourselves instead of posting your car to a load board and hoping someone bites.

St. Petersburg and Clearwater

Pinellas pickups often mean condos, gated communities, and beach towns with tight streets. Tell us about gate codes, garage clearance, and where a hauler can safely stop. If a big truck cannot reach the door, we will agree on a nearby meeting spot with you in advance.

Bradenton and Sarasota

Many of our Sarasota and Bradenton customers are seasonal residents who split time between the Gulf Coast and the Keys, or retirees sending a second car south. Planning a winter move? Our seasonal shipping page has timing tips.

Where we deliver

We deliver to Key West and everywhere in between, serving the entire Florida Keys: Key Largo, Islamorada, Duck Key, Big Pine Key, Summerland and Cudjoe, and Stock Island. Going the other way? See Key West to mainland Florida car shipping.

What it typically costs

Rates on the Gulf Coast run a little differently from our overall Florida Keys ranges. Shipping between the Tampa area and Key West, in either direction, typically starts around $650 for a standard car on an open trailer, and Sarasota and Bradenton start around the same. Fort Myers and Naples usually start a bit lower than Tampa, while Wesley Chapel and Pasco run a little higher because of their location. Timing matters most: the more flexible your pickup window, the better our chance of getting you one of the lower rates. These are estimates, not quotes. Enclosed transport, larger vehicles, and Key West or Lower Keys deliveries can add to the number. Your quote is based on your exact addresses, vehicle, and timing.

Dealers we ship for

Dealer moves are a big part of our Gulf Coast and Keys work. We regularly handle dealer trades and deliveries for the Keys Auto Center stores in Key West: Key West Chevrolet on North Roosevelt Boulevard, plus Key West Toyota and Key West Ford at the Keys Auto Center campus at 1618 North Roosevelt. On the Gulf Coast, we regularly deliver dealer trades to Sarasota Toyota. If you run a dealership and need cars moved between the Gulf Coast and the Keys, see our Florida dealer trade page.

Open, enclosed, and special vehicles

Most cars ride on an open hauler. For a classic, exotic, or high-value car, see our exotic and classic car shipping page and our open versus enclosed guide. We also move motorcycles and golf carts.
